Autumn Moon Festival

Autumn Moon Festival Celebration - October 3, 2009.

Each year, we celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival with our FCC family of friends. We have a wonderful dinner at Miss Yip's Cafe on South Beach and then head down Lincoln Road to the beach. As part of the festival, we tie messages to white balloons (to represent the full moon) and release them at the beach to send our messages to our loved ones. It's a very special event every year, and of course this year was extremely special because we got to spend it with Chianna for the first time! We celebrated 2 Autumn Moon Festival without her, sending messages to her and this year, our message was very simple: "THANK YOU!"

Eating dinner at Miss Yips, practicing with the chop sticks.

Heading down to the beach.

The beach!

That is the full moon behind us, not the sun! I had to lighten this picture to get it visible, but its one of my faves.

Trying desperately to get a group shot.

And the lanterns turn into sand buckets!

Mia, Katie & Ethan burying Myke's shoes in the sand!

It's hard to see, but those are the balloons flying up and away.

Good night, Autumn Moon!
