Day 5 in Hanoi (Con't) - WE HAZ STROLLER!

After about an hour or an hour and 1/2 Chianna woke up. She takes a while to wake up and just kind of sits up and watches her DVD player, which we almost always have running at this point. I think the familiar sounds are a comfort to her and she is also learning from the DVDs too. We are not convinced that the day went any better with a nap or not, so we will have to see and probably won't know for sure until we get home and get settled in.

So we eventually got her up and going. She played with daddy for a little bit. One of her favorite games is when Myke bumps into the pillars that we have in the room. He pretends to run into them and makes noises, hits it with his foot and she thinks its the funniest ever! After he bumps into it, he shakes his pointer finger at it, as if to scold the pillar for hitting him. Chianna things this is the funniest thing, ever. The other day, she bumped into it on accident and then started shaking her finger at it and laughing and looking at Myke! Oh, we all had a laugh at that! Now she does the same and pretends to bump into it just like daddy does! LOL

Then we went out in search of the toy alley and found. . . . *FANFARE PLEASE* . . . . The Duck Mobile a.k.a. "Ducky".

Now Ducky is a pretty special stroller - buggy - tricycle all in one. It has two baskets and plays 2 songs with a bunny - go - round that goes around when the music plays and it lights up! It took her a minute or two to decide if she wanted to get in it, but as soon as she pushed the button and realized that it plays music, she was sold! Ducky cost Mommy & Daddy 400,000 Vietnamese Dong, which - to Daddy's surprise - is only about $20 US. Not a bad deal at all. I just hope that Ducky can make the trip home because Chianna loves, loves, loves it! She sat in it and enjoyed her scenic tour of the lake this time, rather than walking. She was very quiet and observant, looking everywhere, playing the music over and over again. She reluctantly got out of ducky when we stopped at an outside cafe for dinner, but kept a close eye on him. Our dinner tasted real good - I had spaghetti bolognese and Myke shared pizza with Chianna, but we will not be eating here again, or anywhere outside, for that matter. The street vendors would not leave us alone! It was very annoying and I am sure that the restaurant loses a lot of business for letting them hang around. They do not go away and do not take no for an answer. Probably that tactic has made so many people just give in and buy something, that it works sometimes. Had our waiter not been so nice, I really would have go tup and just left. Probably in another situation without Chianna and a stroller and everything, I would have left. But oh well - lesson learned!

At least I was able to get this great video of Chianna loving her pizza!

Chianna enjoyed a fresh watermelon juice:

Then, when we got back to the room, it was a whole different story with Ducky. She was playing with him, getting on and off and putting her things in the basket and then transferring things from one basket to another. Ducky kept her occupied for quite some time! She even was feeding Ducky her snacks, as you can see in the picture. She mimics Myke and says "nom, nom, nom nom" while feeding him! Myke and I both took turns pushing her around the room and crashing her into things, which she loves to do; and we oblige, anything to make our little giggle princess giggle and smile!

Here is a pic from breakfast, eating her hot dog and rice LOL
